Spicejet was terrible and unreliable
Everyone is aware of what spicejet is known for. I decided to overlook it and booked a round trip with spicejet Hyderabad - Chennai. On my flight to Chennai, I had a tough time. The flight was already pushed back by an hour. I just had a carry-on. They asked me to pay an extra 1800rs for my laptop. I haven't seen this with any other airline. They held off until check-in was over to check the bags. I had to pay the total fee, but they offered a discount to the person who arrived after me. That's not right. When we took off, the engine (and in turn the AC) was turned on at the last minute to save fuel. Even after we landed, while we waited for 10 minutes to find a spot to get off, the engine was shut down to save fuel. The flying experience was also not good, a restroom door that kept shaking while in the air - it felt loose. It's quite surprising spicejet is still running. About my return flight (at 8:45am), I thought it would go well. But again, as I was checking my bag (7:35am), I received a message that the flight was moved to 12 noon. When I asked the staff they told me the flight was meant to come from Ahmedabad to Chennai, before going to Hyderabad, but due to technical issues it turned back halfway. The 12 noon time was just an estimate and it could be delayed further. No other airline had a flight before that. And clearly now with increased fares because it was last minute. But anyway I felt like I was punished for booking for booking Spicejet. I got a full refund (which is nothing compared to what my new flight cost and the taxi to and from the airport again) and booked a different airline. I ignored the other reviews, and I hope you don't. Spicejet was terrible, is bad and will be bad. I don't see how one can trust their life on Spicejet when they are so unreliable.
