STAY AWAY from getaroom.com
Stay AWAY from getaroom.com, which seems linked to priceline. Quite honestly if priceline is supporting this business, I won’t use them either. The small print says the booking can't be canceled. I understand. But when you try to cancel, it seems simple, and gives the feeling that all is well and that you'll get your money back. We reached out several times, were put on hold, and got disconnected.
UPDATE: After many calls and posting bad reviews on every site I found, they finally gave me my money back. I won’t change my rating. STAY AWAY and reach out to hotels directly. Prices are often similar.
I wonder if when I arrived for my booking I would have had a room ready. THE WORST HOTEL BOOKING EXPERIENCE EVER. Customer support is NO help - since they have your money AND can rebook the room.

never got a confirmation email
The booking went alright, but I never got a confirmation email with a reservation number. I needed to cancel my trip, and when I called, they said to me over and over that they couldn't find a record of my bookings. After nearly an hour and a half on the phone trying to call off the bookings and being told there were none, I stopped trying. After that, I was charged for 2 rooms at a hotel where I didn't stay, but Getaroom said they had no reservations for me. The link on my card bill that showed who reserved the rooms was Getaroom.
I won't book with them again, and will definitely warn people I know not to use them!

this company is totally a scam
I thought I booked directly with the hotel. A week before our stay, I called the hotel to extend a reservation by a night and asked about the confirmation number I was meant to get to access the hotel and room. It became a disaster. The hotel had no booking. After a lot of trouble, they said I had a reservation through Expedia. We contacted Expedia together, Expedia said I reserved via a travel agency and gave me a number to call overseas. I'm just summarizing the mess.
Since this was a family event for a graduation, I needed the accommodations but the hotel couldn't assist with changing the booking or giving a confirmation email. They kept telling me I had to go back to the site I booked. Since I believed I booked on hotel website, I was clueless about where they were directing me. I ended up reserving rooms straight with the hotel by phone. They promised a complete refund for the initial bookings.
After the event, I contacted the hotel to say I didn't get the refund. They sent me to Expedia who then gave me an overseas number.
Next, I called my credit card company to contest the charges. I'm currently in a dispute. Get a Room sent a letter to Cc company saying I got in touch with them. It's strange because I had no idea about Get a Room before I disputed the charges with my credit card company.
This company is totally a scam. I don't get how they mislead customers on the hotel website but this is a total scam and should be shut down
