account locked and then closed

On 9-7-23 my Venmo account was locked, so I reached out to customer service and was asked to give ID and wait for a week to ten days, after a week my account remained locked. Venmo support informed me weekends aren't counted for the 7 to 10 day wait. I mentioned they should have let me know, on 9/16/23, I got an email saying my account was unlocked. I attempted to use my card at Walmart but it was declined. I reached out to Venmo and they said my account was frozen and to check my email, I checked my email and they locked my account again and then they closed my account and said they would keep the funds in my account for six months to prevent any loss and if there is any money they would email me about transferring

poor security and support

In June last year over $1000 was taken from my account on Venmo due to my account being compromised. Venmo didn't help at all to fix it or support me. Andrew Kortina one of the founders of Venmo is more interested in growing his wealth than putting some of that into improving their poor and, from what I saw, ineffective security measures that leave any money on the app at a significant risk of being stolen. Also, their so-called customer support doesn't seem interested, usually, in assisting their users when there is a security problem. In fact, in my experience I felt somewhat blamed for transactions I didn't authorize or even knew were occurring overnight.
