Salon-style results at home hair colour prices
I’m really pleased with the Catania - lightest beige blonde, so I am ordering another shipment. Before I started using Catania my hair was very pale silver blonde that went yellow after washing a few times unless I put on blue shampoo. Since I started using Cantania I don’t need a blue shampoo anymore. My roots are deeper in colour than the bleached hair but I still like the colour. It makes my hair look ombre. For now I am happy to carry on growing it out without bleach. Later, I plan to do a bleach wash on my hair to brighten the parts that haven’t been bleached. It doesn’t leave my hair dry. I got the extra shampoo and conditioner because they leave my hair feeling soft and keep it smooth. After a few washes using my regular shampoo and conditioner, my hair turns dry and frizzy again, and they aren’t cheap supermarket stuff. I can’t find anything else like it... Salon-style results at home hair colour prices! I love it!

finally found a true dark brown shade
I've been working on this review for ten years. As a person with dark brown hair, I've spent ten years trying to find an ACTUALLY NUETRAL dark brown shade that makes my hair a bit darker and more dimensional, but doesn't look black, red, or purple, and avoids hot roots that many brunettes face - plus covers the small gray spots I have without turning them into a strange light red or orange shade or overloading the rest of my hair while trying to get the color to stick. It’s been a decade of struggle, not to mention wasting a lot of money in salons and damaging my hair from box dye. Then I cried happy tears after using the Dark Brown from the Shade. It’s exactly what I've been looking for in a hair color. My hair looks good - it's a dimensional (but not overly reddish), shiny, true dark brown shade - dark enough to highlight my features against pale skin but that doesn’t look flat blackish or purple. Plus, I can't find a single gray hair and there’s no noticeable color difference on my grays. I'm sure if I looked hard enough, I might find some hairs that used to be gray. I'm also impressed by the value of the kit. I used another subscription box while I was in the States and they cost more for less, and the results were really disappointing. My hair looked dull and felt damaged. This kit made my hair feel healthier. I even tried to order the green-based brown from Wella online - a so-called high-quality color brand. It’s a shade designed to eliminate red tones to prevent hot roots, but it really left my roots red, barely covered my grays and turned them orange, and ruined my hair. All this means whatever is in this box ACTUALLY works. Thanks a lot.

happy with The Shade subscription service
The Shade's subscription service has worked well for me. I’m in a small rural town and knowing I will get the color I selected when expected is just great, I can't explain it. I have long, thick hair and one pack gives enough dye for solid coverage. I use demi-permanent and it's gentle on my hair and offers good grey coverage (and I have plenty). The formula is kind to my hair, and The Shade Dark Ash Blonde I picked does not go orange like a lot of other colors I have used, or create a bad buildup at the tips of my hair. I’m quite happy. If you are a home "colourist" I recommend giving The Shade a try.
