a good selection of suppliers

In comparison to the UK, US comparison websites are often not good, just acting as fronts sometimes, gathering user information to sell, then redirecting you to the suppliers' actual site where you have to start over. Very frustrating and deceptive. However, this time, since my previously somewhat helpful power comparison site is gone, Energy Bot turned out to be pretty good, because it could gather my real power usage from the past year and do a direct comparison of present usage to future usage and predict how much I would spend on various plans. Compared to the fixed price deal I'm leaving, the pricing model showed several hundred dollars in savings across the next ten months. My calculations confirmed that as well, so this time, at last, a comparison site that functions. A good selection of suppliers, exact pricing, all costs displayed clearly and a similar price per kWh figured out. Totally suggest it and I intend to use the service again. Good job, I appreciate it.

credit goes to Energy Bot

Honestly, I have some strong words about the "Texas Power to Choose", but I won't put them here, and it's not good. It has never done consumers any good, but we're stuck with it. I checked the Texas Power to Choose site, as I do every year. For context, I live in an apartment in the DFW Mid-Cities area. When I chose "Home" selecting "Apartment", the 3 plans that gave $50 discount for using more than 500kw, none, naturally, were available in my area. That left me with only a $100 discount for using over 1000kw. Last year, that happened just 4 times. So if I use less than 1000kw, I would pay just over 23 cents a kw, which is nuts! It makes you want to use more electricity. . After searching for a few weeks as my current plan was about to end I tried Energy Bot. I found a 12 month plan with a decent rate, without big fees if you use less than 1000kw. It was about 14.5 per kw. Not bad, so I can use as little Power as I want without being penalized. Their website was clear and easy to use and showed providers that Texas Power to Choose didn't. So, credit goes to Energy Bot. . I will always hate, no, disdain is a better word for the whole Texas Power to Choose that was pushed by TXU and Reliant. In the end, I found a good plan for the next year, and I will look at Energy Bot next year and go from there.
