stay away from this company
This is how the car price went up from just 7.65 € a day to 32.00 € daily. Final amount 1960, 00 €. Malta 2025-04-07.
Saw an ad for Car Jet CITYGO: get more peace of mind right now for only 7.65 € a day, which is just 38.23 € for the whole rental (5 days). We arrived at the rental office at 8:39 a.m. The guy in the office was by himself, but told us: you need to wait now, return at 9 a.m. WHY? BECAUSE there's no charge for cancelling before 9 a.m. When we returned, I wanted to cancel the rental, but the person at the office said happily: you need to pay a 60 € cancellation charge. We knew we were in trouble, BUT COULDN'T DO a thing. And the total we paid:
Cost of rental 38.75 €
Late fee 24 € (We planned to bring back the car at 6:30 a.m., before the office opens)
Additional drivers 40 € (I reserved the car rental, but I paid for my wife, who was listed as a driver.)
Fuel 48.50 (unfortunately no full-to-full choice)
Taxes 4.50 €
Security Deposit 1800, 00 € (which I wish to get back).
Stay away from this company, it's smarter to choose BOLT or local transport..

this website is a fraud
I would rate zero stars if I could. They refuse to refund me, even though I canceled my reservation in the permitted time. I have an email from them too stating my booking got canceled on the 29th June, and the reservation could have been canceled up to 5th July. They just say i asked for a change, not a cancellation. The single change I did was adding two car seats as that choice wasn't offered at the time of the booking. After that I cancelled as I found a cheaper deal somewhere else. I have the email to back it up. Their support team is awful. They even cut me off and the phone rep was quite rude and kept cutting me off, not listening at all. This website is a fraud and I will not book with them again and I will surely warn everyone to avoid this website because they are not trustworthy.

Steer clear of renting a car
Steer clear of renting a car with this company. We booked a car through carjet from Australia in the UK the company Suprise and Carjet took advantage of our situation.
We made a reservation online and reached out to both companies after looking at the details to check if an international driving permit was necessary, both confirmed that it wasn't. We have been driving cars for ten years in the uk without needing an international license.
When we arrived we were collected by suprise and taken to their pickup spot, only to discover they required an international permit and they requested an additional £360 for it, when we replied no, saying we would get one online they insisted they would not accept an online version and denied us the car or a refund. They refused to take us back to the airport, and left us stuck without a car or internet access and didn’t help us whatsoever, luckily, the cafe owner there assisted us and called us a taxi.
We received a bad response from carjet.
Do yourself a favor and if you're booking in Manchester just avoid it, they seem to be known for this after talking to the taxi driver. We finally booked with Enterprise in Burnage and they were decent, cheaper doesn’t automatically mean better as we discovered.
