United Kingdom
a once decent company going downhill
AbeBooks UK was the website I had enjoyed since 2016, until they exposed me to the terrible seller. My expensive new book arrived with a big sticky mark on the cover with a piece of the envelope attached to it. I have never seen anything like this. The sticky flap of the cardboard envelope had been stuck inside, adhering to the book, instead of being stuck to the outside of the envelope. I requested a new one. The seller refunded me. I hoped for better quality and service, rather than just a refund. They misled me with their return policy - two conflicting answers from different people. I thought AbeBooks UK would ask how they could send a book like that to a customer. It was damaged when it was sent. They supported the seller instead. They offered me a coupon and an apology. I don’t want any of that. I believe that no matter the replacement policy, the damage was bad enough that I should receive another one. AbeBooks UK connected me with this bad seller. AbeBooks UK let me down because of the seller. I can’t trust them anymore to vet their sellers and will deal with it myself. A once decent company going downhill. Check out the pictures and be shocked.
