soul-draining task that numbs the mind
My kid saw the Linux penguin icon on my computer screen and showed total disgust. The root cause was the association with the penguin from ST Math. I used ST Math. I disliked it. What goes into the vetting process to choose a program which creates such bad feelings towards a subject we want to encourage? Teachers or those who choose what children are going to use should check it carefully - try it, look at reviews, test it, create a focus group. My kid knows pi to five decimals but has to spend 20 minutes a day doing ST Math, bored. It numbs the mind and is a soul-draining task. If you mess up or click wrong, you must restart. The good part is, it can be a chance to learn, but not really for math. It is a clear example of how a poor choice impacts many people's lives.

STmath is ridiculous and terrible
STmath might be one of the most ridiculous and terrible things I've ever seen. First things first, as I’ve read in other reviews and heard from my own classmates, this program is extremely dull and excuse my language, but this drives me insane. For starters, this "Educational game" isn't good at all. It tricks you. It makes you feel you got the answer correct when you tell yourself "Almost there" or "Almost" as it seems to be making you think you almost had it and this might work for others, but it doesn’t work for me. Being "So close" means to me, you’re not clever enough and can't get it correct even after everything you’ve learned; this might just be my mindset, but I'm still using it as an argument as it still makes you feel like you’re close, when you’re actually just halfway there. Speaking about being "So close", The lives system, and oh man, THE LIFE SYSTEM. Let’s not even talk about the life system. The life system gives you a few lives. You get one chance to fail and then, if you fail again, you need to restart the entire level indicated by a white dot in the top right of the STMath screen. Whenever you restart, you receive another dot. This CAN be avoided if the teacher gives unlimited lives, but this is only for kids who are REALLY having a hard time. This hasn’t happened to me and I'm in 7th grade, but I've watched it happen to my classmates. In the end, STMath feels more like a frustrating game and should NOT be a thing
